The best sunflower fields to visit in the UK in 2025
The lavender has made way for glorious sunflowers. Here’s where to find a field of fabulous blooms
Way back in the day, when I was the editor of teen magazine Bliss, I went on a work trip to the east coast of the USA, to take photos for our cover. I remember pulling up in front of a field of sunflowers and asking our model to pose on the roadside. It turned out to be one of my most favourite images.
Now, you don’t have to go to the USA to capture this fabulous photo opp – especially this long, hot, UK summer, as we have sunflowers-galore. Thanks to the plant and flower experts, Beards and Daisies, here’s a round-up the best sunflower fields to see in the UK. But note – the season is short and the flowers are blooming from now until mid August.
1. Sam’s Sunflower Fields – Hayling Island, Hampshire, stokefruitfarm.co.uk
Sam’s Sunflowers has one of the most vibrant and joyful sunflower experiences in the UK, with a 50-acre field. This year promises the farm’s ‘biggest and brightest season yet’, with live music, food and drink, dog-friendly evenings and arts and crafts markets.
2. The Patch MK – Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, thepatchmk.co.uk
Set in the Buckinghamshire countryside, The Patch MK is a stunning 50-acre farm with over 500,000 sunflowers and 50 million wildflowers, making it one of the most visually breathtaking destinations on the list.
3. Frogs Farm – Thwaite, Suffolk, frogsfarm.co.uk
Frogs Farm features a 40-acre sunflower field cut into two new mazes you can walk around. There’s also a pumpkin patch, later, plus play areas.

Located just outside Shrewsbury in Shropshire, Little Wytheford Farm is a 15-acre family farm, with walking paths through the sunflowers and pick-your-own fields.

This five-acre farm has four different sunflower varieties to pick, plus photo opps on a swing and giant chair, nature walk and kids’ trail, and even a mini-tractor drive. There’s also a viewing platform, wildflower areas, coffee, cakes, and a craft station.

I’m taking a short break
The British Travel List is on holiday! Ironic, I know, but you’ll have to excuse me for the month of August, as I am going on my travels and will be out of contact for a while. I’ll be back, refreshed, with lots of new content to share, on Sep 2. In the meantime, if you have any ideas for topics you’d like to see in autumn and winter, please do comment below. I love to hear from you.
