Like London, Edinburgh is getting a swathe of new high-end hotels. One of The British Travel List’s favourite chains, The Hoxton, is leading the way, with 214 rooms, trattoria and cinema, across 11 townhouses in Haymarket. It will undoubtedly become the place to hang out. Thehoxton.com
The Edinburgh 16-20
Also coming to Edinburgh in 2025, is The Edinburgh 16-20 on Castle Street, which will have 28 rooms, styled with wood panelling, marble and plush furnishings. At first, it will offer breakfast and a bar, with a restaurant opening later. perlehotels.com


Mollie’s Manchester
Moving slightly south, Manchester is enjoying a moment and also welcomes multiple new hotels this year. Top of the list is Mollie’s Manchester, which opens in the summer in the old Granada Studios, alongside Soho House. The 128-room hotel will have funky interiors including a gym, bar and diner. mollies.com
Treehouse Hotel Manchester
Also in Manchester, comes high-end eco-brand Treehouse Hotel, which opens a 224-room hotel with cinema, gym, two restaurants, rooftop garden and bar, imminently. treehousehotels.com


Six Senses London
I’m excited about this one, as Six Senses London is finally due to open this year, in the art deco building which was Whiteleys, in Bayswater. The 109-room hotel will have private residences, a huge spa and members’ space. sixsenses.com
The Chancery Rosewood
Another high-end hotel in a landmark building, is The Chancery Rosewood, in the former US Embassy in Mayfair. With 146 rooms, wellbeing spa, five retail shops and a huge ballroom, this will be one to watch. rosewoodhotels.com


Cambridge House
Also in Mayfair, comes 94 Piccadilly. A Grade I-listed townhouse which was once the Naval and Military In and Out Club, it’s opening as a 102-room hotel and private members’ club from Auberge Resorts. Opening later this year, it will have high-end dining and a spa. aubergeresorts.com
The Newman
Not far away, on Newman Street, north of Oxford Street, comes The Newman, which will be a chic boutique hotel with 81 rooms, large brasserie and wellness floor. Opening in the summer, thenewman.com


House of Gods
The name is dramatic and so is the building in Canary Wharf, with 78 rooms, music venue, rooftop bar and events space, this brand, which has branches in Edinburgh and Glasgow, opens later this year. houseofgodshotel.com
The Gallivant, Littlestone Beach, Kent
The Camber Sands hotel The Gallivant has proven a roaring success, so this year it welcomes sibling The Gallivant, Littlestone Beach, on the Kent coast. Opening in the summer, the adults-only boutique property will have a Hamptons-esque feel, with spa. thegallivant.co.uk
