7 of the best things to do this Easter, around Britain
From egg hunts to bunny-drawing, here’s my pick of great days out to keep the kids entertained over the holidays
Everyone loves a good Easter egg hunt, but what to you do with the other few weeks of school holidays? From Easter trails to bunny-drawing classes, duck-hunts to bunny breakfasts, here’s my pick of what’s on around the country, for families.
1. Easter Escapades at English Heritage sites, nationwide
If you are an English Heritage member, make a date for one of their Easter Escapades, at various sites around the country, from Friday 7 – Monday 10 April. They have traditional storytellers and entertainers, games and events. Plus, look out for Easter Adventure Quests around the country, too.

2. Easter egg trails at National Trust sites, nationwide
My kids love a trail, especially if there’s a chocolate egg at the end of it. So, we’ll be booking in for one of the National Trust egg hunts – ok, probably three – which run throughout the school holidays. They’re being held at sites all over the UK – from lovely Lyme in Cheshire, to Lorna Doone in Devon.

3. The Peter Rabbit Easter Adventure, London
Little ones will love this outdoor immersive experience in Covent Garden. Help Beatrix Potter look for presents and go on a mission to rescue Jemima Puddle-Duck from Mr McGregor. You will meet Peter Rabbit, Benjamin Bunny, Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle, and more and can drive a mini Rover at Mr McGregor’s Obstacle Course.

4. Breakfast with the Bunny, Hard Rock Café, Glasgow
If you’re like me, all family activities need to come with a double-shot latte, so this one is perfect. The Hard Rock Cafe in Glasgow, is hosting Breakfast with the Bunny on Easter Sunday. Tickets include breakfast, children’s entertainment from Bounce & Party, an Easter egg and a visit from the Easter Bunny.

5. Bunny drawing at Fortnum and Mason, London
Hop down to Fortnum and Mason on April 3 for a special Wild Life Drawing Class, in the store’s Field restaurant. You can meet bunnies and guinea pigs and grab a canvas to sketch them. It’s a ticketed event, so book first. Then you can snap up one of their deluxe Easter eggs - it would be rude not to, after all.

6. Duck Trails at Caerleon Roman Fortress and Baths, South Wales
For those in Wales, there are lots of Easter trails at historic locations, including Easter egg hunts at Caerphilly and Laugharne castles. For something fun, how about the duck trail around the Roman Baths at Caerleon, with a chocolate prize at the end.
